INGREDIENTS
36 oz barbecue sauce of your choice
36 hamburger buns or slider rolls, split
Sliced onion, pickles and jalapeños, for serving
INSTRUCTIONS
Cover and heat on low for two to three hours, or on high for one hour, until the sausage is warmed through and the sauce is hot and bubbly, reaching an internal temperature of 165 degrees. Because this dish will sit out for serving, heating it fully before switching to warm keeps it out of the food-safety danger zone and holding cleanly through a tailgate.
Switch the slow cooker to warm to hold. Set out the buns alongside the sliced onion, pickles and jalapeños and let guests build their own sandwiches.
Notes: Swap in Kountry Boys Jalapeño Smoked Sausage for a spicier version. For deeper color and flavor, sear the sausage in a skillet for one to two minutes before adding it to the slow cooker — optional, but it's the trade-off for the true dump-and-go version below.
Description
Game day doesn’t run on a schedule, and neither should your menu. These Saucy BBQ Slow Cooker Link Sandwiches are built for the long afternoon of tailgating and backyard watch parties, when kickoff is really just the excuse and the real event is everybody standing around the cooler catching up.
This one’s dump-and-go: Kountry Boys Original Smoked Sausage and barbecue sauce, straight into the slow cooker. Low and slow means you’re not stuck at the stove — cook it through, switch it to warm and let guests pile sausage onto a split bun whenever they get hungry.
Set out sliced onion, pickles and jalapeños on the side, the way Texas BBQ joints serve up a link sandwich, and let everyone build their own. Made with All-American pork, no fillers or artificial colors and gluten-free, it’s an easy way to feed a crowd without missing a single snap.
