Description

Some recipes just feel like home — the ones you can whip up with one hand while pouring coffee with the other. Pigs in a Blanket are one of those tried-and-true classics. Whether you’re feeding a full house on a Saturday morning, getting ready for kickoff or looking for something easy to bring to the office potluck, these golden bites never disappoint.

At Kountry Boys, we believe good food doesn’t need a long ingredient list or fancy instructions. It just needs big flavor, a little patience and the right sausage. That’s why we reach for Kountry Boys Smoked Pork & Beef Sausage every time. Each bite is smoky, savory and just the right amount of juicy, wrapped up in buttery crescent dough and baked until perfectly golden. They’re simple, hearty and downright addictive — the kind of comfort food that disappears as fast as you can pull it from the oven.

You can’t get more crowd-pleasing than this. Crisp on the outside, tender in the middle and made with real Texas sausage, these Pigs in a Blanket are ready for breakfast, tailgates and everything in between.

Wrappin’ ’Em Up Right

Every great Pig in a Blanket starts with the sausage. The secret to getting that perfect snap and flavor lies in the kind of link you use, and Kountry Boys Smoked Pork & Beef Sausage brings just the right balance of smoke and spice. Slice each link lengthwise and cut in half so you’ve got the perfect size for rolling.

When you open that can of crescent rolls, you’re greeted with that familiar pop — the sound that means something warm and good is about to come out of the oven. Separate the dough into triangles and line them up on your countertop. Each one is a blank slate waiting to get wrapped around that smoky sausage.

Here’s a tip: make sure the sausages are completely dry before you roll them up. A quick pat with a paper towel will help the dough stick better and bake up crisp. If you want to take things up a notch, brush a light layer of melted butter on the dough before rolling. It adds an extra touch of flavor and helps them bake to a rich, golden brown.

Once you’ve got all your sausages wrapped and ready, place them seam-side down on an ungreased baking sheet, point side up. Pop them in a preheated 375°F oven and bake until they’re puffed and golden — about 13 to 15 minutes.

The smell alone will have folks wandering into the kitchen asking when they’ll be ready. It’s that irresistible mix of buttery bread and smoky sausage that feels as familiar as a Texas sunrise.

A Texas Twist Worth Sharing

Pigs in a Blanket might be simple, but they’re the kind of dish that brings everyone to the table. You can serve them just as they are, or set out a few dipping sauces to make things interesting — spicy mustard, smoky barbeque or even a little ranch for the kids.

For breakfast, try serving them with scrambled eggs and fruit for an easy spread that’ll feed a hungry crowd. For game day, toss them in a basket with pickles and jalapeños, and they’ll be gone before halftime.

And if you want to make them feel extra special, swap out plain crescent dough for puff pastry or sprinkle the tops with sesame seeds before baking. However, you make them, there’s no wrong way to do it — as long as you start with Kountry Boys Sausage.

Simple, satisfying and a little nostalgic, these Pigs in a Blanket are proof that the best recipes are often the easiest ones. So, preheat that oven, roll up your sleeves and get ready for the kind of snack that never sticks around long.
