Difficulty: Easy

Prep: 30 minutes

Cook: 120 minutes

Total: 150 minutes

Serves: 8

Ingredients

10 slices cooked Kountry Boys Thick-Sliced Original Bacon, crumbled

1 pound Kountry Boys Pan Sausage

16 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 cup sour cream

4 or 5 fresh jalapeños, seeded (if desired) and diced

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Method

Brown sausage in a skillet over medium heat. Drain well.

Crumble cooked bacon slices.

To the insert of a slow cooker, add all ingredients (feel free to cut the cream cheese up in cubes to help it melt easier). Lightly stir.

Cover the slow cooker with a paper towel, then add the lid on top of that (this helps keep the condensation from getting into the dip and making it watery).

Cook on low for 2 – 2 1/2 hrs, stirring well halfway through.

Serve hot, garnished with additional fresh jalapeño slices if desired.

Description

Some recipes just know how to steal the show — and this Spicy Sausage Jalapeño Popper Dip does it every single time. It’s creamy, smoky, cheesy and just the right amount of spicy, loaded with Kountry Boys Sausage and crispy bacon that take this crowd-pleaser to a whole new level. If you’ve ever had jalapeño poppers at a tailgate or barbeque, you already know that flavor combination can’t be beat. Now imagine all that goodness in dip form — warm, melty and begging for a tortilla chip.

This dip is made for game days, backyard cookouts and any time you need something that’ll have folks scraping the bowl clean. It’s hearty enough to count as a meal if you’re watching the game all afternoon and easy enough to throw together in a slow cooker while you handle the rest of the spread. Just a few ingredients and a couple hours later, you’ve got a dip that’s as Texan as Friday night football.

Bringing the Heat

What makes this dip so irresistible is the balance — a little heat from the jalapeños, the richness of cream cheese and sour cream, and that savory depth that only comes from good sausage.

Start by browning a pound of Kountry Boys Pan Sausage in your skillet. As soon as it hits the pan, you’ll hear that satisfying sizzle and catch a whiff of that smoky, seasoned aroma that fills the whole kitchen. Break it up with your spoon and let it cook until it’s golden and browned all the way through. Once it’s done, drain off the excess grease — you’ll keep all the flavor but ditch the heaviness.

While the sausage’s cooking, fry up a few slices of Kountry Boys Thick-Cut Bacon if you haven’t already. The key here is getting it good and crispy so it holds its crunch when you crumble it into the mix later. That salty bacon flavor adds a whole other layer of richness to the dip.

Now it’s time to build the magic in your slow cooker. Add the cooked sausage, cream cheese, sour cream, Parmesan, mozzarella, diced jalapeños and those crumbled bacon pieces. Stir it all together — it doesn’t have to be perfect since the heat will do the rest. For an extra smooth melt, cut the cream cheese into chunks before adding it.

One of the best tricks for slow cooker dips is to lay a paper towel over the top before sealing it with the lid. It absorbs condensation, keeping the dip thick and creamy instead of watery. Set it on low and let it do its thing for about two hours, stirring once halfway through so everything melts evenly.

By the time the timer dings, your kitchen will smell like jalapeño poppers fresh out of the oven — smoky, cheesy and just a little spicy.

Cheesy, Creamy and Addicting as Can Be

The beauty of this dip is that it checks all the boxes — creamy enough to scoop, hearty enough to satisfy and spicy enough to keep folks coming back for more. The combination of Kountry Boys Sausage and bacon gives it a deep, meaty flavor that pairs perfectly with the creaminess of the cheese and the bite of the jalapeños.

When you lift the lid on your slow cooker, you’ll see that irresistible golden layer of melted mozzarella and the tiny bubbles around the edges that tell you it’s ready. Give it one final stir, then top with a few extra jalapeño slices for color and a little kick.

Now, here’s the real secret: serve it hot. Keep the dip in the slow cooker on the warm setting during your get-together so it stays melted and gooey all night long. Because once this hits room temperature, it’ll still taste good, but let’s be honest — nothing beats a warm, cheesy pull of dip straight from the pot.

The first scoop should be a little messy, full of sausage, bacon, gooey cheese and just enough jalapeño to make you take a sip of your drink before diving back in.

Tips and Tricks for a Winning Dip

This dip is easy enough for first-time cooks, but a few small tweaks can help make it your signature dish.

  • Control the heat. If you like things spicy, leave some of the jalapeño seeds in. Want it milder? Remove them all and use fewer peppers.
  • Add a crunch. Top with crushed tortilla chips or buttery breadcrumbs right before serving for texture.
  • Make it smoky. A dash of smoked paprika or a drizzle of barbeque sauce on top can add a little Texas barbeque flavor.
  • Serve it right. This dip goes with just about anything — tortilla chips, toasted baguette slices, celery sticks, or even potato wedges.

And if you’ve got leftovers (though we doubt you will), it makes an amazing topper for baked potatoes, burgers or breakfast tacos. Just reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave, stirring until creamy again.

A Texas-Style Crowd Favorite

What we love most about this recipe is that it’s more than just a dip — it’s an event. It brings people together around the kitchen island or the tailgate table, everyone scooping, laughing and sneaking just one more bite. It’s hearty enough to hold its own next to the wings and barbeque, and it’s got that unmistakable Kountry Boys flavor that feels right at home anywhere you serve it.

This Spicy Sausage Jalapeño Popper Dip is proof that sometimes the best recipes are the simplest ones. It’s not fancy — it’s just good, honest food made with quality ingredients and plenty of Texas heart.

So next time you’re planning a gameday spread, a backyard hangout or a family get-together, make this dip the star of the show. Grab a pound of Kountry Boys Sausage, a few jalapeños and some cheese, and let the slow cooker do the rest. Just don’t forget to make a double batch — once it hits the table, it won’t last long.
