Biscuits and Sausage Gravy

There’s nothing like a hearty Southern breakfast to kick off the day, and it doesn’t get more comforting than biscuits smothered in rich, savory gravy made with Kountry Boys pan-style Sausage. This easy recipe calls for store-bought biscuits, so you can spend less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying the good stuff. Whether you’re feeding a full table or just treating yourself, biscuits and sausage gravy are a sure-fire way to bring the taste of Texas to your morning.

Difficulty: Easy

Prep: 5 minutes

Cook: 25 minutes

Total: 30 minutes

Serves: 4

Ingredients

1 package biscuits, such as Pillsbury Buttermilk Biscuits

Kountry Boys pan-style Sausage, Original or Hot

1/3 cup flour

3 cups whole or 2% milk, plus more as needed

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, plus more as needed

1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

Hot sauce (optional)

Method

Prepare biscuits according to package instructions.

While the biscuits are baking, heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Add sausage and cook, breaking the sausage into crumbles, until browned and cooked through, 8 - 11 minutes.

Add 1/3 cup all-purpose flour and cook, stirring constantly, until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Gradually pour in 3 cups milk, whisking constantly. Cook and continue to stir until the gravy is thick and bubbling, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat.

If the gravy is too thick, add more milk in tablespoons and whisk to loosen.

Serve biscuits covered in sausage gravy and drizzle with hot sauce, if desired.
