Difficulty: Easy

Prep: 5 minutes

Cook: 25 minutes

Total: 30 minutes

Serves: 4

INGREDIENTS

1 package biscuits, such as Pillsbury Buttermilk Biscuits

Kountry Boys Pan-Style Sausage, Original or Hot

1/3 cup flour

3 cups whole or 2% milk, plus more as needed

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, plus more as needed

1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

Hot sauce (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Prepare biscuits according to package instructions.

While the biscuits are baking, heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Add sausage and cook, breaking the sausage into crumbles, until browned and cooked through, 8 - 11 minutes.

Add 1/3 cup all-purpose flour and cook, stirring constantly, until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Gradually pour in 3 cups milk, whisking constantly. Cook and continue to stir until the gravy is thick and bubbling, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat.

If the gravy is too thick, add more milk in tablespoons and whisk to loosen.

Serve biscuits covered in sausage gravy and drizzle with hot sauce, if desired.

It’s the kind of comfort food that makes you slow down, savor every bite and remember why mornings in Texas just hit different. Whether you’re feeding the whole crew or treatin’ yourself to a quiet morning, Biscuits and Sausage Gravy made with Kountry Boys Pan-Style Sausage always delivers that stick-to-your-ribs satisfaction.

Simple, hearty and downright delicious, this recipe takes a Texas classic and makes it easy enough for any day of the week. Using store-bought biscuits means less prep, less cleanup and more time enjoying the good stuff. Once you’ve got that rich, peppery gravy bubbling on the stove, it’s hard not to grab a spoon and sneak a taste.

The Texas Way to Do Breakfast

At Kountry Boys, we’re all about keepin’ things simple — real ingredients, honest flavor and that unmistakable Texas heart. Our Pan-Style Sausage, available in both Original and Hot, is made from premium pork seasoned to perfection. It cooks up hearty, juicy and full of smoky flavor, makin’ it the perfect base for creamy country gravy.

If you grew up in the South, biscuits and gravy are more than breakfast — they’re a tradition. Maybe it’s Sunday at Grandma’s, or a hunting trip morning before daylight. No matter when or where, that first bite always feels like home. With this version, you’ll get all that homemade taste without spendin’ all morning in the kitchen.

Tips from the Skillet

  • Cast-iron is key. It holds heat evenly and picks up all those flavorful browned bits.
  • Don’t rush the roux. Letting the flour toast for a minute deepens the flavor.
  • Add a fried egg on top for a brunch-worthy twist.
  • Try it spicy. Kountry Boys Hot Sausage brings just the right amount of heat.

Leftovers? Warm the gravy gently on the stove with a splash of milk and it’ll taste just as good as the first time.

The Ultimate Comfort Breakfast

This is one of those recipes that just feels good to make. The smell of sausage cookin’ in the pan, the sound of biscuits rising in the oven — it’s the kind of breakfast that brings everyone to the table before you even call ‘em.

And it’s versatile, too. Serve it with scrambled eggs and a side of Kountry Boys Bacon for the full spread, or make it the main event on a lazy Sunday morning. It’s also perfect for holidays and weekends when you’ve got guests — hearty, filling and guaranteed to impress.

If you’ve ever wondered how something so simple can taste so good, this recipe’s your answer. It’s old-school comfort, made easy.
